GETTING THERE
FLY IN
You can either fly to Boston Airpot (BOS) and bus or drive to the ferry. For the more convenient option, you can fly directly to Martha’s Vineyard island (MVY).
BUS OR DRIVE TO FERRY
You can take Peter Pan Bus from Boston or New York directly to the Steambship Authority ferry terminal.
If you’re driving, you can park you car at one of the ferry parking lots in Wood Hole, Falmouth, MA and take the passenger ferry to the island. There are Ubers and buses on the island to get around. You also have the option to take your car on the Steamship Authority car ferry (more expensive) – be sure to book early as these fill up.
RIDING THE FERRY
Steamship Authority Leaves from Woods Hole, Falmouth, MA - Runs the most frequent service to the island. You can travel by car (reservation well in advance for a spot), or you can travel as a passenger, leaving your car at one of its parking lots and shuttling to the ferry terminal. The Peter Pan Bus from Boston or New York will take you to the ferry terminal. Ferries alternates Islands terminals between Vineyard Haven and Oak Bluffs, see the seasonal schedules for more information. If you do not bring your car and choose to walk on to the ferry, everything you bring with you will have to be carried on the boat. Tickets cannot be purchased in advance for walk-on passengers.
